MacBook Air Smart Case offers serious protection without serious bulk

SmartCase.jpg

WaterField Design (http://www.sfbags.com)’s Smart Case doesn’t bring anything dramatically new to the MacBook Air market, but offers good-looking protection for the ultra-sleek laptop.

The Smart Case is made of an Ultrasuede, scratch-free liner with a high-impact, rigid insert for screen protection. It’s enveloped by a water-resistant exterior. All these features together means it offers serious protection without serious bulk. For double the security and easy transport, the Smart Case fits into the personal size WaterField Muzetto carrying case — which costs $219 for the 11-inch MacBook Air model and $239 for the 13-incher.

The Smart Case is also debonair in appearance, so is a great fit for Apple’s gorgeous Air. The Waterfield case is flanked by naturally tanned, distressed brown leather and is custom fitted. There’s no visible stitching on the outer nylon, a feature I’m sure Steve Jobs would approve.

All Smart Cases come with a low-profile, stretchable pocket that can hold your power adapter and cables. The 11-inch MacBook Air Smart Case is priced at $79; the 13-inch MacBook Air Smart Case is $89. It comes in six colors: black, copper, flame, green, pearl or pine.

If you need a sporty case/sleeve that adds some effective padding to keep your MacBook Air case, the Smart Case will fill the bill.
