Akvis (http://www.akvis.com) has released Akvis MakeUp 1.0 for Mac OS X (10.4 and higher) and Windows. Akvis MakeUp automatically smoothes small defects on the skin, making it radiant, beautiful, pure and even, as you can see on artistic images, according to the folks at Akvis.

The software is designed for tasks such as processing marriage photographs or graduation party photos. Thanks to the Batch Processing feature, you won’t need to process every picture, but can apply the chosen settings to a whole folder with the event shooting.

The program is available in plug-in and standalone versions. The plug-in version is compatible with Adobe Photoshop CS5 64-bit.

To use, open a portrait with Akvis MakeUp and click on the Run button. The software will retouch and freshen up the skin without changing other aspects of the photo.

There are two modes — Express and Advanced. In Express mode you can do the correction with a single click using the default settings, while in Advanced mode you can choose the tone of the skin more precisely using the eyedropper tool and play with more parameters. In Advanced mode you can also achieve special effects

Akvis MakeUp sells for US$39 for the Home version (either plug-in or standalone), $49 for Home Deluxe (plug-in and standalone), $72 for Business (plug-in and standalone, for commercial use). A demo is available for download.

Also, users can enjoy the full line of Akvis products in the Akvis Alchemy Bundle (Retoucher, Chameleon, MultiBrush, Enhancer, Coloriage, Noise Buster, Sketch, Decorator, LightShop, ArtSuite, SmartMask, Magnifier, ArtWork, NatureArt, Refocus, HDRFactory, and MakeUp) at a 60% discount.
