Raskin for Mac OS X gets Light Table view

Raskin Software (http://raskinformac.com/) has updated its self-titled Raskin application — a zoomable single surface Finder alternative for the Mac — to version 1.5. The upgrade adds a Light Table view for ad hoc presentations or as a dedicated review space.

It also adds the ability to auto-open (drag and drop pictures and text straight into a layout document) and autofocus while dragging items. Raskin 1.5 has a new “Focus” menu and shortcut menu. There are also additional personalization options and performance optimizations (such as lower CPU and RAM usage).

Raskin requires Mac OS X 10.6.3 or higher. It’s available for US$48.99 at the Mac App Store or the Raskin Software web site (http://www.raskininformac.com). A 30-day demo is available for download at the latter. Raskin 1.5 is a free update for registered users.
