Googly has announced Merlin’s Magic Room HD 1.0, a new children’s entertainment app for the iPad. The US$1.99 game features three games designed to help children ages 3-6 improve their motor skills, and hand-eye coordination.

Continuous Integration has released Word Ball 1.0, a word game for the iPhone and iPod touch. The $0.99 iPhone is designed to challenge your word building skills. Test your limits by keeping the letters alive and reach the top levels. Gain achievements for different word building categories. Word Ball features a dictionary, with Game Center and OpenFeint support and more.

Mobivention has introduced Reversi as a freemium edition for the iPhone, iPod touch and iPad. Through a customizable play the app gives its players a new feel for the classic game. The basic version offers add-ons via in-app purchases. Reversi is played by 1-2 players on an 8×8 board. The pieces are two-faced, each in two shades and they are being placed alternately on the game board.

In collaboration with independent children’s book author and illustrator Chris Robertson, KwiqApps has published Little Miss Liberty 1.0, an original children’s picture book on iOS devices. The $1.99 picture book features young Miss Liberty and depicts her story of growing up in Paris and finally landing in New York.

To honor the 30th anniversary of the space arcade shooter Galaga, which came to North America in 1981, Namnco Bandai Games has released the new arcade compilation, Galaga 30th Collection for the iPhone, iPod touch and iPad.  The universal app is free to download and is bundled with a free copy of Galaxian, with more classic Galaga titles available through in-app purchases.
