SQLabs (http://www.sqlabs.com/) has announced cubeSQL, a performance relational database management system built on top of the sqlite database engine. It’s a database server targeted to both developers who want to convert a single user database solution to a multiuser project and for companies looking for an “easy-to-maintain” database management system.

cubeSQL runs on Mac OS X, Windows and Linux; it can be embedded into any iOS and Cocoa application. It can be accessed with any JSON client, with PHP, with the native C SDK and with an highly optimized REAL Studio plugin.

On the Mac, cubeSQL requires MacOS X 10.5 or higher. cubeSQL Developer Edition is free and enables developers to create an application based on cubeSQL without paying any fees until they’re ready to deploy their application. Commercial licenses start at US$299.
