Otterbox (http://www.otterbox.com) has announced its Defender series of cases for the iPad 2. It will be available soon for US$80.95.

Similar in functionality to the Defender Series for the original iPad, the new case incorporates a 20% lighter design for increased portability. First, a clear, hi-impact polycarbonate shell embraces the device with inner coring and memory foam pads. A black silicone jacket provides shock and bump protection, while plugs keep the headphone jack, silent/screen rotation lock and 30-pin connector free of dust and dirt when not in use.

A removable polycarbonate screen shield protects the multi-touch display. An integrated viewing stand is built into the shield. All device features, including the back camera and volume rocker, remain fully functional.
