LORTU unveils compact back-up server

LORTU (http://www.lortu.com) has announced the LDA-Mini, a backup appliance slightly larger than a standard hard drive, which can store approximately 20TB of data.

Also, using the remote back-up service offered by LORTU, it can back up as much as 80GB data daily over a conventional Internet connection such as a DSL line. This storage and transfer ability is possible due to the deduplication technology built into the appliance. LORTU has been developing this technology for over eight years.

The LDA-Mini can be installed in any office thanks to its ultra-thin chassis design, low noise and low power consumption, according to the folks at LORTU. It has an estimated virtual capacity of 20TB and costs approximately US$962.
