UK based independent developer Chris Mayer has announced two new Xcode projects available for free from the CodeStore website (http://www.codestore.co.uk/index.html).

CodeStore offers Xcode template projects to anyone looking to create an app for the iPhone or iPad. The projects have a range of uses, and can be freely modified. No knowledge of the Objective-C programming language is required to create an app using the templates, as the code is already complete. All that’s required is the replacement of the example content (JPEG images, MP3 audio, HTML text, etc.).

The two new projects which are available for download are simplified versions of the Advanced Book App, and Story Book App, which have been used by a number of authors to publish their books on the App Store. The paid projects currently offered include:

° Comic Book Project for creation of an iPad digital comic book;

° Story Book Project, for creation of children’s books; it includes a narration feature;

° Advanced Book App, for creation of traditional text-heavy books; images can be included within the books as HTML format pages are used;

° Showcase App, which has a wide range of uses, including recipe books, tourist guides, art or photo showcase.

The projects require Mac OS X 10.6 or higher, Xcode 3.2.5 and iOS SDK 4.2, or Xcode 4 and iOS SDK 4.3. The two new projects are available for free download. The paid CodeStore projects range from US$29 to $39. All projects can be purchased as a bundle for $59.
