Sales of iPad 2 are running at a rate faster than its predecessor, and Apple took delivery of 2.4-2.6 million units in March, according to “DigiTimes” (http://macte.ch/UFgTs), quoting unnamed sources at “upstream touch panel suppliers.”

Based on a conservative estimate, Apple is likely to take delivery of 4-4.3 million units a month, or a total of over 12 million units, of iPad 2 tablets in the second quarter, said sources told “DigiTimes.” TPK Touch Solutions and G-Tech Optoelectronics are eagerly expanding their capacities for cover lenses currently, with TPK expected to ramp up its cover lenses for 3.5-inch touch panels to five million units and for 10-inch panels to 2.5 million units in June, the article adds.
