SMEStorage (http://www.smestorage.com) has released CloudFTP, a new feature add-on for their open cloud platform that enables FTP storage clouds even if the underlying storage cloud doesn’t support the File Transfer Protocol.

The CloudFTP feature continues a theme of providing ubiquitous access into silo’d storage clouds. SMEStorage already enables WebDav access into any storage cloud supported by the open cloud platform via the use of the CloudDav product. in addition to this users can already use the Amazon application programming interface to access any of the storage clouds mapped to their account.

According to SMEStorage CEO Ian Osborne, CloudFTP has been tested with many popular FTP clients such as Transmit, CODA, Krusader, Filezylla, the Ubuntu ftp client, Total Commander, and others. CloudFTP is available to new and existing SMEStorage users and is priced at US$19.99.
