Nuance Communications has introduced Nuance PDF Converter for Mac, giving Apple Mac users the ability to create, convert and edit PDF files for US$99.

PDF Converter for Mac allows users to create, view, edit and scan industry-standard PDF files. The product uses Nuance OmniPage document conversion and optical character recognition (OCR) technology to turn PDF files back into editable text documents and turn scanned PDF files into searchable PDF files.

The product also connects to separate cloud-based services, including NuancePDF.com document conversion for conversion to fully-formatted word processing and spreadsheet documents, and Evernote, a note storage and access service. Drag and drop document assembly features to combine Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint documents with PDF documents — adding the entire document or specific pages, according to Robert Weideman, general manager and senior vice president for the Nuance Document Imaging Division.

You can redact or erase text from documents to protect sensitive information. Text and images can be edited or deleted to maintain confidentiality.
