OWC announces hard drive upgrades for new MacBook Pros

Other World Computing (http://www.macsales.com) has announced higher capacity, higher speed hard drives and Solid State Drives (SSDs) “Do it Yourself” kits for the new MacBook Pro 13-inch, 15-inch and 17-inch models announced by Apple last week. 

The upgrade kits provide all the needed tools, including a bus-powered external enclosure, for the installation, data transfer, and ongoing use of the original drive for additional external storage and/or data backup. The OWC 1TB Hard Drive Kit features 33% more storage capacity than the largest 750GB drive factory option and is priced at US$122.99.
 
The OWC 750GB 7200RPM Hard Drive Kit offers 50% more storage capacity than the largest 500GB 7200RPM drive factory option. It’s priced at $124.99 (compared to up to $150 for the factory 750GB 5400RPM upgrade option).
 
The OWC Mercury Extreme Pro Solid State Drive (SSD) Kits cost from $114.99 (up to 54% less than the factory SSD options) with capacities of up to 480GB. In addition to storage upgrades, OWC has also announced an 8GB Memory Upgrade Kit for the new MacBook Pro models, with savings of up 55% versus the factory installed 8GB option; as well as 6GB of total memory not available from the factory.
