e-Cycle (http://www.e-Cycle.com), an official buyback and recycling partner of Verizon Wireless, will provide onsite AT&T iPhone buyback and data deletion for attendees of the Macworld Expo in San Francisco from Jan. 27-29.

This is the first time in the history of the conference that iPhone buyback and recycling has been offered. e-Cycle’s booth number is #651.

“With the upcoming release of the iPhone 4 from Verizon on Feb. 10, we anticipate an exorbitant number of AT&T iPhone users converting to the iPhone 4 by Verizon,” says Chris Irion, founder and CEO of e-Cycle. “It is estimated that millions of AT&T iPhone users will convert to the iPhone® from Verizon in the next two years, and e-Cycle is prepared to provide fast and secure iPhone® buyback services to help offset the cost of purchasing the iPhone 4 from Verizon.”

During the conference, e-Cycle’s mobile phone buyback representatives will assess the value of each AT&T iPhone based on set criteria (including damaged devices) and issue immediate payment. An onsite data security expert will provide same-day data deletion for each iPhone purchased. The company’s consumer division is solely dedicated to purchasing used iPhones and iPads through an online buyback tool available on the company’s website.

“We estimate that there are approximately nine million iPhones® retired for newer devices each year, and we expect that number to grow considerably within the next two years as sales for the iPhone dramatically increase,” says Irion. “Of the estimated 130 million mobile phones discarded in the U.S. each year, only about 10% are recycled. But nearly 50 percent of these devices still have a resale value. e-Cycle plans to spread the ‘reuse and recycle’ message to Macworld attendees this week. Selling your iPhone for reuse is good for your bottom line and great for the environment.”
