Speck (http://www.speckproducts.com) has announced ToughSkin and ToughShell cases for the iPhone 4.

“We’ve designed our new cases with two different abuse degrees in mind,” says Bryan Hynecek, director of design at Speck. “The ToughSkin is well-suited for active on-the-go, everyday use, while the ToughShell is ideal for more extreme applications such as construction, law enforcement, sports and those wanting truly expanded device protection.”

The ToughSkin’s rubberized design sports a distinct, textured pattern that offers extra grip while protecting the phone from accidental bumps and drops, without adding excess bulk or limiting access to controls and sensors. Additionally, an inner plastic hard shell creates a secondary layer of protection from impacts. The detachable holster with rotating belt clip offers the flexibility to access your iPhone 4 and can also function as a viewing stand. The ToughSkin will be available later this month at a manufacturer’s suggested retail price of US$39.95.

The all-new ToughShell has a single-piece design with three layers of protection, including shock-absorbing rubberized insulation, an impact-resistant plastic hard shell and a textured silicone perimeter grip band designed to help seal the case and offer added grip. All ports and buttons are covered yet remain accessible. The case includes a detachable holster with rotating belt clip that doubles as a viewing stand. The ToughShell will be available in black/grey for $49.95 in late January.
