FriedEgg Limited (http://www.friedegg.com) has released version 1.6 of friedEgg Touch, an interactive data analysis tool for Mac OS X. From this version onwards, friedEgg Touch will only be available through Apple’s Mac App Store.

As part of this transition, the price has been reduced from US$39 to $14.99. In addition, there are several key improvements in this latest release, which focus on the sharing of data and analysis files:

° Save as a package, with data. Analysis files can be saved as package, containing a copy of the original file with the data table. As the analysis is closely tied to the source data table, it makes it easier if they can be stored together, according to to the folks at FriedEgg Limited. The package is shown as a single file in the Finder, and can be moved and emailed to other users, as if it were a single file.

° Export all data columns. Selected data can be exported for all data columns, rather than just the four columns assigned to chart dimensions. This is designed to benefit users who use friedEgg Touch for data filtering and selection, as part of a workflow.

FriedEgg Touch — which requires Mac OS X 10.6.6. or higher — allows the user to interact with their data by directly manipulating a chart. This enables complex analysis, across many dimensions, in a few steps.

friedEgg Touch 1.6 is $14.99 USD (or equivalent amount in other currencies) and available worldwide exclusively through the Mac App Store in the Business category. A sample data table is included with the application to enable users to explore the key features.
