Analyst forecasts new iPad in April 2011

Apple will roll out a second-generation iPad next April, a year after the original’s launch, according to analyst Brian Marshall of Gleacher & Co. As reported by “InfoWorld” (http://www.infoworld.com/d/mobilize/expect-ipad-2-apple-next-april-says-analyst-723), he told clients that the iPad 2 will have the same form factor, but with dual-camera functionality, allowing iPad users run FaceTime.

But don’t expect more storage in the iPad 2, says Marshall. “I don’t think we’ll see higher-capacity iPads,” he told clients. He thinks we’ll see the same 16GB, 32GB and 64GB configurations Apple now sells.

The analyst also thinks we’ll see a CDMA iPhone in March. It will, he forecasts, able to run on mobile networks such as Verizon in the U.S.
