Kyte introduces live video streaming to iOS devices

Kyte (http://www.kyte.com/), a 360° video platform, today announced new live streaming functionality, enabling broadcasters for the first time to deliver both on-demand and live video experiences to any Apple iOS device, including the iPhone, iPad and iPod touch.

The updated Kyte iOS Application Framework and SDK (software developer kit) allow customers to deliver native iPad, iPhone and iPod touch apps that feature live streaming video and audio, according to Chief Operating Officer Gannon Hall. Live streaming is also supported for HTML5-based web browsing on iOS devices.

The live streaming functionality is made even more powerful when combined with Kyte’s signature social features, such as the ability for mobile viewers to share content via Facebook, Twitter and email, as well as integrated commenting, rating and chat capabilities, which increase user engagement and social content discovery, says Hall. New video and audio monetization options are also available through HTML5 ads served by third party ad platforms such as Doubleclick DART, allowing Kyte publishers to monetize iPhone and iPad audiences with pre- and post-roll video advertising.
