Franklin 3D Game Engine for REAL Studio released

The Component Man Group has announced Franklin 3D 1.71 for REAL Studio (formerly
REALbasic), the cross-platform BASIC language development environment from REAL Software.

Franklin 3D is a professional 3D game and simulation engine available for Mac OS X and Windows. It includes over 400 methods, including support for display control, model loading and callbacks. It also includes the engine, plus a collection of example projects. According to the Component Man Group, utilizing an open source core engine, Franklin 3D lets developers use the optimal 3D rendering engine depending on the platform: OpenGL on Mac OS X or Windows, and DirectX

Franklin 3D includes a set of demo examples/projects that developers can use in their own games and simulations. Deployment is royalty free.

This is the second development platform supported by the game engine. Franklin 3D for LiveCode incorporates the same core engine and supports Runrev LiveCode, the HyperCard like cross-platform development environment. The Component Man Group also announced the release of Franklin Audio for LiveCode, a multi-channel component for adding rich audio support expected in professional game development.
