Blackmagic Design has announced Videohub Control for iPad, a new, free control panel software that allows the iPad to become a XY control panel for all Blackmagic Design Videohub series routing switchers.

DigitalDeejay has released mix.dj for iPad. This $6.99 app gives you access to thousands of mixes from DJ’s around the world in one click. You can listen to more than 25,000 mixes straight from your iPad, streaming whenever and wherever you want, all via WiFi or 3G. You can choose from 25 pre-programmed moods and genres.

Aspyre Apps has introduced PhotoCaddyHD, its new iPad version of their photography guide. It’s a $3.99 handbook for photographers of all skill levels, with content that is constantly evolving thanks to an active user community.

Salient Holdings has debuted Project Sanctuary Lite, a free iPhone action game with top down view and dual stick controls. The game unfolds around the conflict between human and alien forces in a mutual struggle for survival and features shooting actions, role-playing elements and engaging comics.

OCRKit Mobile is a new text recognition app for the iPhone. The $3.99 app uses advanced OCR (optical character recognition) technology to recognize the text in graphics. It lets you edit and furthermore copy and paste the text to other iPhone applications.

Olaf Greck has announced Fuel Log Evo 3.4.3 for iOS, an update to the app that allows the user to track, save, and graph vehicle fuel usage and expenses. It supports both imperial and metric systems of measure and provides: date of fill-up, odometer reading, units of fuel, fuel cost/unit, total cost for fill-up, and distance/unit of fuel. Fuel Log Evo 3.4.3 is regularly priced at $2.99, but is currently available for $0.99.
