Nuance Communications is offering its Dragon Medical Mobile Search app on the Apple App Store — and it’s free for a limited time. The voice-enabled medical search app for iPhone gives clinicians a smarter way to search for medical information.  Dragon Medical Mobile Search is an advanced form of Nuance’s Dragon NaturallySpeaking software.

Bobasoba has announces Count the Days 1.0, its inaugural application for iOS devices. The US$0.99 is based on the idea that anticipation is an important part of any significant occasion. It’s common for someone to “count the days” until an event. With Count the Days, you can add up to 15 occasions, and the app will keep track of the days remaining until each one.

5 Minute Games has released Famished Farm Animal Frenzy 1.0 for iPad users. Like playing a traditional board game, up to four people can play a game of the $0.99 game. They just gather around the iPad and play from the side that their selected animal is on.

In the game players must defend their rustic farmhouse from the relentless onslaught of blood-thirsty aliens. Players have the use of eight weapons to defend their homestead, ranging from various firearms to mayonnaise bombs.

Riley Hamilton has debuted Guidepost the 1.0 for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. It uses random repetition to help you reach your goals faster. The $1.99 app features unlimited entries with push notifications, random reminders, a vacation mode and more.

By analyzing the music already on the user’s iPod, BandMate highlights upcoming concerts and releases for both the bands a user already listens to along with other artists that the user would most likely be interested in.

PhatWare Corporation has introduced WritePad for iPad 4.2, an update to their $9.99 handwriting recognition software for iPad devices. WritePad lets users take notes in their own handwriting with an iPad stylus pen or their finger. Version 4.2 now allows synchronization of WritePad documents with Dropbox.

Smart Box Design says WordPop! for iPhone now has a “Brag” feature allowing players to email their family, friends, and co-workers their longest and highest scoring words. The $0.99 app is a 6 x 6 game board filled with randomly selected and placed letter tiles. The object of the game is to clear the board by creating words. As each word is formed, the tiles in the word are removed and the remaining tiles fall to fill in the gaps, creating new word possibilities.
