With no fanfare, Apple has updated the unibody MacBook with a faster processor and better graphics, while keeping the price at US$999.

The revved MacBook sports a 2.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor and a Nvidia GeForce 320M graphics card. The previous version touted a 2.26GHz processor and Nvidia GeForce 9400M.

Other specs include a 13-inch display, 2GB RAM, a 250GB hard drive, built-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, two USB ports, Gigabit Ethernet, 8x double-layer SuperDrive, built-in iSight camera, a combo audio in/out port and Mini DisplayPort video out. Apple says the laptop gets 10 hours of battery life on a full charge. That’s up from seven in the previous incarnation.
