The Quadsphere has released Icarus-X 1.0, a game for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch devices. It’s an US$1.99, full 3D vertical shooter with downloadable replays, so that you can enjoy watching the best players in the world turn the game inside out. There’s also a Slow-Motion Practice mode to learn the more difficult patterns at your own pace.

Discovery Channel and Hands-On Mobile have announced the Deadliest Catch App is available on the Apple Appe Store for $3.99. The app, based on Discovery Channel’s show, Deadliest Catch, challenges iPhone and iPod touch users to survive harsh weather and freezing temperatures as they try to fill the crab tanks by the end of the season.

ToldTwice has produced ToldTwice-Free SMS Reminders, a $0.99 iPhone app that that allows parents to send reminders to their child’s cell phone via free SMS text messages. It was designed as a tool for busy parents. The app allows parents to send standard reminders to any SMS capable cell phone at any future date and time.

Atinco has introduced Traffic Control Game 1.0, a $0.99 simulation for the iPhone and iPod touch. Players compete to achieve the smoothest flow of traffic and fewest accidents on the busy city streets of Miami. By controlling 1-5 different stop lights at intersections, players prevent collisions and traffic jams while motorcycles, school buses, emergency vehicles and cars travel at various speeds. Streets are seen in overhead view, complete with buildings, lanes, tunnels, lights and vehicles.

The $0.99 Dream Home iPhone app by Apalon was created to bring users a range of design ideas for every room in the house. It’s a tool that features high resolution photos to help users choose ideal modern decor for their homes. Photos of the interiors can be selected based on the room type, style or color.

PR Newswire has launched a free iPhone/iPod touch app that provides users with direct access to breaking news from many of the world’s leading brands and organizations that issue text and multimedia press releases and information over PR Newswire every day.

Spirit, a provider of carrier-grade voice and video software engines for desktop and mobile videoconferencing, has demonstrated its TeamSpirit VideoConferencing Engine on iPad, iPhone and Android devices to selected customers in China, Korea, Europe and the USA. With its latest software release Spirit expands the range of videoconferencing endpoints that now include iPhone, iPad, Android, Symbian, Mac OS X, Linux, and Windows/Windows Phone/Windows CE terminals.

Amidio has released iHolophone, a music instrument for the iPhone, iPod touch and iPad. The app allows effortless live performing on two synthesizers over fully programmable sequencer beats. iHolophone is initially priced at $6,99. A free version (iHolophone Free: Happy Birthday edition) is available.

Diethard Seiferth is offering a new version (2.1) of FirstThings for the iPhone and iPod Touch. It’s a $6.99 fourth generation time management app based on the books, “First Things First “ and “The 7 Habits of highly effective people” from Stephen R. Covey. There’s also a free, “lite” version.

Innowebtech has updated Dropozoid for the iPhone and iPod touch to version 1.1. It’s an update of the $0.99 puzzle for solving logic problems.

EuroSmartz has released PrintCentral 1.2 for the iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. The $9.99 app showcases integration enhancements into iWorks and the Apple Mail app. With it you can open a file in iWorks directly from PrintCentral — or open, print and save an attachment straight from the Mail app using PrintCentral.

Whoodl, now available for the iPhone, iPod touch and iPad, lets users instantly recall anyone’s name that they’d not put in your contact list or address book because they don’t want their phone number or email address. The $0.99, now up to version 1.3, works by letting users associate names by keywords or groups.

Where R U? 2.0 is an update of the $0.99 iPhone app. It’s a bi-directional location tool where iPhone users don’t have to call, text or email their location. Users will be able to let others track their location over a period of time.

WellAlright has rolled out BandMate: Concert Tipster HD 3.0, an iPad version of their $2.99 concert recommendation and music discovery tool for the iPhone. By analyzing the music already on the user’s iPod, BandMate highlights upcoming concerts for both the bands a user already listens to along with other artists that the user would most likely be interested in.

Jourist Verlag has unveiled Travel Interpreter 1.2 for the iPad, iPhone and iPod touch. It’s a $9.99 talking phrasebook that translates English into 23 different languages. Choose any supported language and the app displays 15 topics from which the user can select one of 2,100 words or phrases. Each phrase is spoken aloud by a native speaker, illustrated with a witty cartoon, written out in English, the foreign language and an English transliteration.

Be | daronco has introduced Fit Phone 5.0, an update to their $4.99 workout tracking app for iPhone devices. The new version introduces cardio tracking using the built-in GPS unit. Simply select a cardio log based exercise and then start tracking.

WebIS Inc. has revved Pocket Informant, its $12.99 calendaring/to do app for the iPhone, to version 1.3. The upgrade adds new features such as event location mapping, a new column-style week view, the ability to email tasks and events, several user interface enhancements and sync improvements.
