WD announces 750GB notebook hard drives

Western Digital (http://www.wd.com) is now shipping 750GB of storage capacity in a standard-height 2.5-inch notebook hard drive. It’s the industry’s highest capacity to date in this form factor, says Jim Morris, WD’s senior vice president and general manager of Storage Products.

Designed for mainstream notebook computers, the WD Scorpio Blue 750GB hard drives utilize WD’s 375GB-per-platter areal density and Advanced Format technology. WD Scorpio Blue 750 GB hard drives are shipping now through select distributors and resellers. The manufacturer’s suggested retail price for the WD Scorpio Blue 750 is US$149. WD Scorpio Blue hard drives are covered by a three-year limited warranty.
