MixMeister (http://www.mixmeister.com) has announced MixMeister Express 7, which is designed to allow aspiring and professional music producers, fitness instructors, dance choreographers or DJs to create professional-quality mixes. This is the first version that is compatible with Mac OS X and Windows.

MixMeister Express 7 lets you mix and transition between songs, creating custom music mixes. You can create full-length mixes for up to 80 minutes of seamless music. Users can record their mixes to CD and transfer them to their iPod and other portable devices .

MixMeister Express 7 brings new features for existing MixMeister Express users including the ability to import an iTunes database, automatically build categories from an iTunes database and random/smart playlist creation. In addition, MixMeister Express 7 brings new features from MixMeister Fusion, its pro-grade sibling. For example, users can now use live, on-the-fly looping controls, monitor output volume in real time using onscreen VU meters, and manage large music collections using categories.

MixMeister Express 7 automatically beat-mixes transitions between songs. The software calculates how best to mix from one song to the next and offers a choice between suggested transitions and more-manual mixing.

Users can adjust song tempo to play slower or faster without changing the pitch, trim song length and remix songs and sections. MixMeister Express 7 also contains sound effects to add spice to favorite songs. MixMeister Express 7 is compatible with iTunes music libraries and databases, enabling users to import and auto-categorize their music. MixMeister Express 7 features new random and smart playlist creation for instant suggestions of track combinations.

MixMeister Express 7 costs US$69.99 USD. Current owners of MixMeister Express 6 can upgrade to version 7 for $19.99.
