Intego releases VirusBarrier X6 for Mac OS X

Intego (http://www.intego.com), the Macintosh security specialist,
has released release of VirusBarrier X6, the latest version of its
antivirus and anti- malware software for Mac OS X.

VirusBarrier X6 provides protection from both malware and network
threats. It includes full antivirus and anti-malware protection
together with a two-way firewall, network protection, anti-phishing,
anti-spyware features and more. The latest version includes
threat-detection techniques, improved methods of detection, combined
detection protocols, proactive behavioral analysis, and a range of
defensive functions.

The priced of the app has been lowered to US$49.95. And the standard
license now protects two Macs. Families with multiple Macs can now
buy five-Mac family packs for $69.95.

VirusBarrier X6 offers an integrated two-way firewall, phishing
protection, anti-vandal and web threat protection, dynamic code
monitoring, and fine-tuned scanning and security policies. Users can
choose from a number of detailed options to determine exactly what is
scanned and when, and the type of threats that VirusBarrier X6 scans
for. There are also basic settings for users who don’t need such
detailed options.

What’s more, users can choose a level of CPU time to be allocated to
background scans, in order to optimize CPU and disk priorities for
malware scans. All of Intego’s software is now provided with 64-bit
code so is fully compatible with Mac OS X 10.6 (“Snow Leopard”).

VirusBarrier X6 is compatible with Mac OS X 10.5 or 10.6. It’s
Universal Binary so runs natively on both PowerPC and Intel Macs.
