Canon announces new PIXMA printers

Canon U.S.A. (http://www.usa.canon.com ) has announced the latest
additions to the PIXMA Wireless Office All-in-One (AIO) series. Added
features range from sleek designs to improved functionality.

The PIXMA Wireless Office AIO products feature a new and improved
operation panel enabling users to perform basic functions by simply
pressing the Mode key, according to Yuichi Ishizuka, senior vice
president and general manager, Consumer Imaging Group, Canon U.S.A.
Users can select an operation to perform and navigate through menus
and functions easier than ever before, he adds.

A new addition to these printers is the Auto Document Fix feature,
which simultaneously helps deliver scan results for sharing and
repurposing while sharpening and blackening document text to increase
readability. When scanning documents, such as magazines or
newspapers, Auto Document Fix removes the background and the show
through from the other side of the page making it easier to view.

The Auto Photo Fix II feature can be found on all the new models
launched, as well. This feature helps correct common photo errors,
such as underexposed images. Auto Photo Fix II can assist with
features such as Multi-Zone Exposure Correction, improvements in
overall face detection, scene analysis, plus brightness and
saturation correction.

For iPhone users, the Canon Easy-PhotoPrint EX for iPhone (iEPP)
application is available for free on the Apple App Store and
compatible with the new Wireless AIO printers allowing images to be
printed and shared.

Included on each PIXMA Wireless Office AIO printer is the ability to
print up to four separate documents on the front side of one page of
paper. The included Auto Clip feature lets users select a specific
part of a web page to print rather than having to print the whole
page. Each of the new Wireless Office AIO printers can help protect
PDF’s by restricting access to printing or editing files without the
proper authorization.

The PIXMA MX870 Wireless Office AIO sports advanced media handling
capabilities with auto duplex copying, printing, incoming black and
white fax documents and a two-way paper feed. It utilizes five
individual ink tanks. Using the ISO print speed standard, the printer
will deliver output at approximately 9.4 ipm for black-and-white
documents and approximately 6.1 ipm for color. The estimated selling
price of the PIXMA MX870 Wireless Office AIO printer is $199.995.

The PIXMA MX350 and MX340 Office all-in-ones are designed for
business users. The MX350’s features include an 2.5-inch LCD screen,
Easy-Scroll Wheel, PictBridge, memory card slots6 and Ethernet with
Wi-Fi connection. It’s priced at $149.99.

For the first time on a Canon entry-level Office AIO printer, the
$99.95 PIXMA MX340 will not only feature an Automatic Document Feeder
(ADF), but wireless connectivity as well. This four-in-one printer
also has fax and photo capabilities.

The entry-level single function printer, the PIXMA iP2702 , is priced
at $49.99. Utilizing Auto Photo Fix II, this new single function
printer produces both photos and documents. A 4 x 6 inch borderless
photo can be produced in approximately 55 seconds.
