ATTO Technology to showcase 8Gb/s fibre channel virtualization

ATTO Technology (http://www.attotech.com) has announced that it will
be featuring 8Gb/s Fibre Channel Host Adapters and 8Gb/s Fibre
Channel RAID Storage Controller in a live demonstration of an
efficient, secure and robust VMware solution for corporate data
centers at VMworld this week. The ATTO Celerity FC-82EN and
FastStream SC 8500 increase the benefits of server virtualization by
providing greater I/O bandwidth and storage capacity for the
deployment of multiple virtual machines running various applications.

ATTO’s comprehensive 8Gb/s Fibre Channel HBA product line, consisting
of single-, dual- and quad-channel PCIe 2.0 solutions, meets the
high-performance demands of IT environments, including large server
farms and server clusters. Celerity HBAs also feature ATTO’s
exclusive Advanced Data Streaming (ADS) Technology that provides
controlled acceleration of large and small blocks of data, enabling
users to achieve the ultimate in IOPS performance. The FastStream SC
8500 storage controller provides 8Gb/s Fibre Channel host
connectivity to multiple tiers of low-cost SAS/SATA disk storage
enclosures. FastStream sits between workstations or a SAN and JBOD
storage to provide users with a compelling ESX cluster solution while
providing RAID protection and advanced failover capabilities for
maximum data protection and redundancy.

ATTO will also be exhibiting its complete line of HBAs with support
for virtualized environments, including 8Gb/s and 4Gb/s Fibre Channel
host adapters, 3Gb/s SAS/SATA host and RAID adapters and the
industry’s only 6Gb/s SAS/SATA host adapters. ATTO also offers a
complete line of bridging products that connect disk and tape storage
to Fibre Channel and iSCSI SANs.

“ATTO is delivering valuable connectivity solutions to customers
looking to seamlessly integrate storage into VMware environments,”
said Tom Kolniak, director of products for ATTO Technology. “ATTO’s
host adapter and bridge products help IT organizations fully realize
the cost-saving and efficiency benefits of server virtualization.”
