Ross Video introduces an openGear audio multiplexer, demultiplexer

Ross Video (http://www.rossvideo.com) is introducing an openGear 3
Gb/second, capable HD/SD 16 channel audio multiplexer/demultiplexer
at IBC 2009. The new MUX/DMX compliments Ross’ existing distribution
and conversion line.

The new series of audio multiplexer’s and demultiplexer’s have eight
AES/EBU input/output (16 channels) capability, offering an audio proc
to allow control over the insertion and extraction of audio. The
multiplexer and demultiplexer is also available as a single card
solution with Fiber input and output, simplifying and extending
signal path distances.

The audio proc offers channel invert, gain and delay with AES
summing, swap and shuffle while the Mux offers 16 internal sample
rate converters to manage non synchronous audio sources, according to
Eric Goodmurphy, marketing product manager, openGear. The cards allow
for locking to house reference via the frame reference input, which
guarantees proper audio insertion even on loss of video input,he adds.

The dedicated input BNC’s for video and audio eliminate the need for
any break-out cables. A complete interface to the DashBoard control
application is also included with a configurable alarming with
silence detection. Contact Ross Video for pricing options.
