Magma (http://www.magma.com) has announces its
first 4-slot x 8 PC Express solution in an 1U
form factor. According to Randy Jones, president
and CEO of Magma, its features include:
° Communication bandwidth supported between host
and expansion chassis is up to 2 GB/second in
each direction, in simultaneous transmit and
receive mode;
° “Plug ‘n play” installation, supporting seamless integration;
° Supports automatic power-up control of the chassis by the host;
° Supports hot-swappable PCI Express slots;
° The ability to daisy-chain or fan as many slots
as host configuration will allow;
° Supports ability to be connected to laptop through ExpressCard interface.
Magma’s PCI Express expansion systems consists of
a host card, cable and chassis.
