Seapine Software announces Surround SCM 2009.1

Seapine Software (http://www.seapine.com), a provider of
quality-centric application lifecycle management (ALM) solutions, has
released Surround SCM 2009.1, an update of its RDBMS-based software
configuration management solution. Surround SCM’s flexible branching,
highly granular security settings, and configurable file-level
workflows have made it a popular choice of quality-driven software
organizations.

In January, Seapine introduced Surround SCM 2009, which moved data
storage away from Seapine’s proprietary database to standard
relational databases–specifically Microsoft SQL Server and
PostgreSQL. Surround SCM 2009.1 adds support for Oracle databases.

“Surround SCM 2009.1 continues our evolution away from proprietary
data storage with the addition of Oracle database support,” said
Richard Riccetti, president and CEO, Seapine Software. “With Surround
SCM’s RDBMS support, our configuration management customers have
incredible scalability, flexibility, and performance tuning options
available to them.”

In addition to the Oracle database support, new integration features
for Microsoft Office 2007 and Adobe Dreamweaver CS4 give Web
developers and business users access to full software configuration
management functionality, without needing to switch between tools.
Support for integrating with Windows Explorer and Mac Finder also
allows users to quickly add documents to Surround SCM and easily
identify which files are new and which are out of date

Surround SCM 2009.1 also includes annotate enhancements and support
for copying images from the internal image viewer, among other new
features. The new version is available immediately for evaluation at
Seapine Software’s Web site and is a free upgrade for customers with
current Surround SCM maintenance agreements.
