QNAP unveils Intel Core 2 Duo, 8-bay, 16TB iSCSI NAS-TS-809 Pro

QNAP Systems (http://www.qnap.com) has announced the enterprise-grade
TS-809 Pro Turbo NAS, a new NAS (network attached storage) device.
The TS-809 Pro is powered by Intel Core 2 Duo 2.4 GHz CPU and 2GB
DDRII memory, supports eight SATA drive bays that accommodate up to
12TB storage capacity (16TB possible when 2TB hard drives are
available).

It offers advanced RAID features, such as RAID 0/1/5/6/5+spare,
Online RAID Capacity Expansion and Online RAID Level Migration. Other
business features include iSCSI with Thin Provisioning, AES 256-bit
volume

The TS-809 Pro supports built-in iSCSI target service with Thin
Provisioning. Up to 8 iSCSI devices can be created for storage
expansion or backup destination of the existing application servers
on the network. The NAS comes with the Surveillance Station feature
that supports real-time monitoring and video playback from up to four
IP-based cameras. Server functions are provided, e.g. file server,
FTP server, DDNS support, web server with built-in phpMyAdmin,
Joomla, MySQL, SQLite, editable php.ini, MySQL server and printer
server (max 3 sets), etc.

All these server functions can be accessed across Mac, Windows, Unix
and Linux platforms. The TS-809 Pro supports all-in-one XDove mail
