SanDisk makes announcements at Photokina trade show

Today at Photokina, an international photo trade show in Cologne,
Germany, SanDisk (http://www.sandisk.com) is making several
announcements regarding its flash memory line of cards for cameras
and camcorders.

The company is is officially shipping the upgraded family of the
SanDisk Extreme IV CompactFlash (CF) memory cards to support
professional digital photographers. The SanDisk Extreme IV series has
received a 12.5 percent speed boost up to 45 MB/second and the
newly-released 16GB card is twice the size of previous models. These
new high capacity cards are designed for professional photographers
who shoot in RAW or RAW + JPG formats.

On the trade show floor, SanDisk is unveiling its new ImageMate
All-In-One and Multi-Card memory card readers. In addition to
supporting the traditional drag and drop transfer method, both
readers will also feature a new transfer button, which can launch a
user-defined application or web site. Also, these new SanDisk
ImageMate readers are capable of transferring 1-gigabyte of data in
less than 35 seconds. Both readers will available in the fourth
quarter of the year.

The company has also introduced the Extreme III series. It includes
CompactFlash (CF) cards that range from 4GB to 32GB.
