Hog Bay Software releases WriteRoom for the iPhone

Hog Bay Software (http://hogbaysoftware.com/) has announced WriteRoom
for the iPhone. It’s for people who want a simple place to read and
write notes on their phone. The functionality is similar to the
default notes app, but, unlike Notes, WriteRoom also provides
optional Wi-Fi access to your documents.

WriteRoom sports standard fonts and simple black background. With it
you can use a bigger keyboard in horizontal orientation.

Wi-Fi access to your notes is an optional feature. When enabled you
can browse to and edit your notes from your local computer in Safari.
This feature isn’t currently password protected. When you enable
document sharing anyone on your local network can access your
WriteRoom iPhone documents.

This isn’t a sync solution, because your notes are always stored on
your phone. But this solution does make it easy to quickly get text
into and out of your phone, and unlike sync solutions it’s very
simple, according to the folks at Hog Bay Software. You don’t need to
install any special software on your computer, you don’t need to sign
up for any online services, and it will work on any computer, not
just the computer that’s synched to your iPhone.

WriteRoom for the iPhone is inspired by the WriteRoom for OS X
application, but functionally WriteRoom for the iPhone is more
similar to the default Notes application. When you purchase WriteRoom
for the iPhone you will also get a US$5 off coupon that can be used
when purchasing either of Hog Bay’s Mac OS X desktop applications;
WriteRoom or TaskPaper.

WriteRoom.iPhone may be purchased from the Apple App Store for US$4.99.
