Helium Foot Software releases MercuryMover 2.0 public beta, drops

Helium Foot Software has released MercuryMover 2.0 public beta
(http://www.heliumfoot.com/mercurymover). The app lets you move and
resize the windows on a Mac from the keyboard. Version 2.0 brings
one-key shortcuts and a display of the size and position of the
active window.

During the three-week public beta period, MercuryMover 1.1 will be
discounted by more than 20 percent. Version 2.0 will be released on
Sept. 21, and will be a free upgrade for all version 1.x license
holders.

Shortcuts, the flagship feature of this version, provides a mechanism
to assign a single key to a favorite window size and/or position.
While using MercuryMover, typing that key will instantly change the
window to the specified size and location. Shortcuts can be created
by cloning the size and position of an existing window or by typing
the width, height and left/top coordinates into the shortcut editor
in MercuryMover’s preference pane.

Also, MercuryMover now includes a heads-up display that shows the
current window’s width, height and distance from the top left corner
of the main screen. The software requires Mac OS X 10.5 (“Leopard”)
or higher.

On Sept. 21, MercuryMover 2.0 will be available for purchase at the
regular price of US$24. A 100-use demo will also be available for
download.
