Griffin Technology has announced the company started shipping two new speaker systems for iPod — Amplifi and Journi. This release marks Griffin’s official entry into the expanding portable media player speaker business. Amplifi is a contemporary styled 2.1 sound system. With its compact tabletop footprint, wood-based construction, and acoustically tuned enclosure, this system is sure to rock your tunes in any room. Amplifi will accept audio input from almost any source through its built-in 3.5mm (1/8″) input jack. But Amplifi is especially friendly to iPod, with a docking port on top, and six adapters/spacers for a secure fit for any iPod model from iPod mini to 5th generation iPod with video. Journi, Griffin’s personal mobile speaker system, has “great sound wrapped up in a rugged, tuck-under-your-arm & go-anywhere package. Charge Journi up, slip your iPod into Journi’s dock, and hit the road.” Amplifi and Journi are priced at US$149.99 and $129.99, respectively.
