Report: ‘Apple’s Jobs and Ive Neck and Neck in TIME Poll’

A new poll in TIME Magazine’s online “most influential” poll have Apple’s CEO Steve Jobs and Senior Vice President of Industrial Design Jonathan Ive are both favored heavily, reports Business 2.0. “The magazine, whose editors assemble an annual list of the 100 most influential people in the world, this year opened the process up to online voting, a procedure that would seem to invite interest groups to game the system,” notes the story. “And in fact, Bhumibol Adulyadej, the King of Thailand, led the list in early polling and still has the most votes. But because the polling system allows participants to register their opinion on a sliding scale, from 1 (most influential) to 100 (least influential), candidates can move up and down the list. Adulyadej has since dropped to No. 38. As of Tuesday morning, Stephen Colbert topped the list and Paris Hilton was dead last. Jobs was No. 7, between Angelina Jolie and Jon Stewart, and Ive was No. 11, between Warren Buffett and Brad Pitt.”
