MacTech Announces New Mac Community Search

— Search the best sites for Mac technical information
— Refined searches yielding much better results

Westlake Village, CA – December 28, 2006 — MacTech Magazine, the Journal
of Macintosh Technology, announced today that it has implemented a new
community search mechanism to yield better search results across the entire
Mac technical community.

Initial use has shown that results can be substantially better better
focused, higher quality and more relevant to Mac technical user. For
example, a search for “degraded RAID” yields 392,000 results across the web
on a general search, but with MacTech’s Community Search, only the most
relevant 68 results come up — allowing users to hone in much more quickly
on the information they are looking for.

Users of the MacTech search have a choice of searching only, a
hand chosen group of high quality sites in the Mac community, or of course,
the entire web; all using Google technology.

“There are a large number of web sites out there, but not all of them are
related to the Mac, and many are not a good source for quality
information,” said Neil Ticktin, MacTech’s Editor-in-Chief/Publisher.
“MacTech’s editorial team has hand selected the best sites in the industry,
and using the industry’s leading search technologies, has set up a search
mechanism with a refined scope to these quality sites.”

The search engine is available on all pages of the MacTech web site in the
left navigation bar. Or at
