SeeFile Software is unveiling a new version of its software, SeeFile 2.6, at Apple Expo and Photokina this month. SeeFile 2.6 is the first version of the software to be offered in a language other than English (in this case French and German). The software allows photographers, graphic designers and video editors to share private folders with their clients and collaborators, requiring only a PC or Mac Web browser at the client end. For the first time, SeeFile 2.6 also includes the ability to download any file directly from its advanced preview and lightbox viewing modes. The download function, which is enabled or disabled for each user of the software by the system’s administrator using a browser-based interface, was previously only accessible from SeeFile’s thumbnail preview and in-depth metadata views.
