Apple has announced plans to open two new retail outlets in Norfolk, VA and Lake Grove, NY on September 9th. The Apple Store MacArthur Center at 300 Monticello Ave. in Norfolk will be open to the public at 10:00 a.m. ET, and the Apple Store Smith Haven at 313 Smith Haven Mall will be open at the same time. As part of its usual Grand Opening promotion, Apple will give away an Apple T-shirt to the first 1,000 people to visit the each store. In addition, the company is offering a chance to win Digital Lifestyle Collections valued at US$2,229. The winners will receive a 17-inch flat-panel Intel Core Duo iMac, an iPod nano, a Canon PowerShot SD450 digital camera, a Sony Handycam CCD-TRV138, and an HP Deskjet 5440 printer. No purchase is necessary, and entries must be received from September 9 through October 9, 2006. Apple’s Web site had not been updated as of press time.
