Apple joins Calendaring and Scheduling Consortium

Apple this week at WWDC announced its membership in The Calendaring and Scheduling Consortium, as well as an open source implementation of Apple’s calendaring server. “Apple’s release of its new iCAL calendaring server to the open source community demonstrates a solid commitment to open standards and to interoperable calendaring and scheduling, which are keystones of CalConnect’s mission,” said Dave Thewlis, Executive Director of the Consortium. Apple will serve as host for the Seventh Roundtable of The Calendaring and Scheduling Consortium, together with a CalConnect Interoperability Test Event (C.I.T.E.) on September 26-29, 2006 in San Francisco.
