Objectpark releases RAID Alert for Mac

Objectpark Software today announced the initial release of RAID Alert for Mac, the “safety net” for software RAID systems. RAID Alert is an application that constantly monitors all attached RAID systems based on Mac OS X built-in RAID software. It will inform users about any RAID systems’ status changes (esp. failures) via email, a notification dialog and an alert sound. “We ran one of our servers with a disk failure for two weeks until we logged into the machine and ran Disk Utility. Now all of our servers run our new RAID Alert software and this risk is gone forever.” says Dirk Theisen, Objectpark Software CEO. RAID Alert requires Mac OS X 10.4 or later and supports all mirrored RAID volumes running the Apple RAID software. This includes RAIDs built of internal, external, Firewire or USB drives or any combination thereof. RAID Alert is priced at US$39.90, and a 30-day demo is available.
