Analyst: Apple’s 60-gig iPod ‘at risk’

A story on CNNMoney.com today reports that Shaw Wu, an analyst for American Technology Research, has said Apple may phase out its 60GB iPod model, citing a message to distributors that the unit is “at risk” until the end of April. Wu believes this could mean Apple is planning to release a new model in the immediate future. “Wu believes this could mean the company is readying a wide-screen video iPod with Bluetooth headphones that could be ready as early as the June quarter,” notes the story. “The analyst said his checks indicate that Apple is working on such a product.”
