Mac PC-Card for worldwide EDGE and GPRS by Nova

Mac OS X compatible PC-Card for worldwide EDGE and GPRS connections

Apple PowerBooks on Steroids – EDGE compatible PC-Card introduced by nova media

Berlin, Germany, October 26th — nova media today introduced Globetrotter
COMBO EDGE, a universal PC-Data Card for EDGE- and GPRS-connections around
the globe with support of 850-, 900-, 1800- and 1900 MHz networks.

EDGE allows download speeds with up to 236 kbit/s and upload speeds up to
118 kbit/s and is about to replace the slower GPRS technique within many
mobile networks. If no EDGE is available, Globetrotter COMBO EDGE will
switch to a GPRS-connection automatically.

Mac OS X users benefit from the provided Mobile High Speed 3G software with
more than 250 connection settings for EDGE- and GPRS-networks around the
globe already included. After the automatic set-up, all connection details
are already in place and the system is ready to connect with no pain of
entering INIT strings, APN numbers, user names and passwords or making
expensive support calls to non-mac-friendly providers.

Globetrotter COMBO EDGE features a retractable internal antenna and is
conveniently small to leave it in the PowerBook whilst not in use, with
only 4 mm sticking out of the Data Card slot. The small PC-Data Card allows
an external antenna to be connected to boost reception or to have the card
built into a fixed position, e.g on a boat.

Globetrotter COMBO EDGE including Mobile High Speed 3G costs Euro 339,-
plus VAT and needs an Apple PowerBook with PC-Card slot running Mac OS X
10.3.9 or 10.4.x.
