Eastman Kodak Company today introduced Kodak Easyshare 5.0, a free utility that helps users organize, edit, share and print digital pictures. Version 5.0 features new video editing tools that offer the ability to trim, splice, rotate and add music to digital videos. In addition, improved picture editing options “make it easy to automatically reduce red eye and enhance images at the touch of a button.” Other features include enhanced sharing options, a new “Scene Effects” tool for changing the mood in pictures, a “Smart Transfer” feature with duplicate picture detection to prevent inadvertently storing multiple copies of the same image. Kodak Easyshare 5.0 is expected to be available for Macintosh this summer.
