Andy Ihnatko on Apple-Intel changeover

Popular columnist Andy Ihnatko has thrown his hat into the ring with his take on Apple’s move to Intel. Ihnatko’s column in the Chicago Sun-Times today dissects Apple’s decision and the effect it will have on Mac users. The bottom line is that the columnist feels users will be largely unaffected and at the end-of-the-day, Apple had little or no choice but to make the move. “It’s a huge change,” he writes. “A switch in CPU families is just about the biggest wedgie you can give to a hardware platform. Yet the only thing the users will notice is lots of new, faster Macs for sale.”
