Other World Computing (OWC) today announced it has reduced prices by as much as US$40 on its OWC Mercury Extreme G4 processor upgrades. The updated pricing is as follows: 933MHz-1.0GHz)- $195 (was $229.99), 1.0-1.2GHz – $289 (was $299), 1.3-1.4GHz – $349 (was $389), 1.4-1.5GHz – $429 (was $459.99). Each Mercury Extreme G4 includes 256KB of 1:1 L2 cache on-chip and 2MB of high-speed L3 Cache. All models are compatible with the Power Mac G4 AGP Graphics (Sawtooth), Gigabit Ethernet, Digital Audio and Quicksilver models, and with Mac OS 9.2.1 or higher, all versions of OS X 10.0.4 and later including 10.3.x Panther versions.
