Boinx iStopMotion 1.8 – Let the puppets talk.
Munich, Germany – January 10th, 2005. With Version 1.8, Boinx Software
introduces a new pro level feature to iStopMotion which helps animators
to synchronise their animation to a given soundtrack. The new version
also features an improved timeline with thumbnail representation of the
captured frames, direct drag and drop import of images from the finder
and improves the import of multiple pictures from a still camera.
Pro Audio Sync
“It is now much easier to do lip syncing and timing your animation to
music or any kind of soundtrack”, explains Oliver Breidenbach, head of
Boinx Software. “This is a major step towards adding pro features to the
application.” The new audio capabilities will initially be available
exclusively to users of the HR version.
Improved Timeline
All users will get to enjoy the improvements to the time line. Finally,
thumbnails show up in the icons that represent the frames in the
timeline. “We had been looking forward to include this since version
1.0”, says Oliver Breidenbach. “Now the performance of the
application has improved to a point where the thumbnails do not slow
down the workflow.” Drag and drop has also been added to allow frames to
be shuffled around in the timeline.
Other Improvements
iStopMotion 1.8 now imports more than one image at a time from a Digital
Still Camera and uses a much better scaling algorithm if the imported
image needs to be downsized to match the movie size. Playback has also
improved with an option to loop the playback. In addition to that, many

Boinx iStopMotion 1.8 is available for download immediately from the
website http://www.istopmotion.com/. The update is free to current
owners of valid iStopMotion DV and iStopMotion HR licenses. New licenses
are available for USD 39.95 (iStopMotion DV) or USD 349 (iStopMotion HR)
through Kagi.
