HP CEO Carly Fiorina steps down

Carly Fiorina has stepped down as Hewlett-Packard’s chief executive officer and chairman, citing differences with HP’s board over business strategy. Chief financial officer Robert Wayman has been appointed interim CEO, while board member Patricia Dunn has been named non-executive chairman of the board. “While I regret the board and I have differences about how to execute HP’s strategy, I respect their decision,” Fiorina said in a statement. “HP is a great company and I wish all the people of HP much success in the future.” Fiorina was instrumental in reaching a deal with Apple to sell HP-branded iPods.
