Apple mini store ‘EZ Pay’ stations remain useless

ifo Apple Store notes that the “EZ Pay” self-checkout stations in Apple’s new mini stores are still not being used by customers. “The mini store roll out had several surprising elements, including a last-minute change of flooring (blue carpet to epoxy) that cost hundreds of thousands of dollars, and the too-early roll-out of ‘EZ Pay’ self-checkout stations that have remained essentially useless without the necessary software so customers can transact their own purchases. Both issues were the result of trying to open the stores before the holiday shopping season. So the stores generated holiday revenue, but what are you going to do now about those floors and the pay stations?”
