You Control: Desktops extends screen real estate

You Software has quietly released a public preview version of You Control: Desktops, a new utility that allows users to create an unlimited number of workspaces by virtually extending desktop real estate. Accessed through the Mac OS X menu bar, You Control: Desktops helps users organize their workflow by creating separate desktops for specific tasks. “Simply clicking a workspace icon switches to a different desktop, you can automatically change desktops when you switch applications, you can drag application windows, files and folders between desktops or you can move between desktops using hot-keys. Each desktop can have its own background image.” You Control: Desktops has built-in transitions that take advantage of Mac OS X’s Quartz and OpenGL technology. Users can choose from Cube, Slide, Pan, Fade, Swirl, Twist, Zoom or Rotate to animate the transition from one desktop to another.
